MKA's Spring 2014 Movie 'Frankie' Takes Home Two More Awards!
Congratulations to MKA's Upper School Fine & Performing Arts Department as their 2014 Spring Movie Frankie has won two 2014 MarCom Awards. A GOLD for Video Production and an HONORABLE MENTION for Video Script. These are the fifth and sixth awards for the movie. Frankie takes place in a high school monopolized by the "it-girl" Jennifer Marshall and her crew. Frances Selwood, a typical "plain Jane" wants nothing more than to be accepted by Jennifer and her friends, and when given the opportunity, jumps at it. Through a process of reinvention and a personality overhaul, Frances, renamed "Frankie" by Jennifer, is able to discover who she truly is, and who she very much isn't.
Directed by MKA faculty member J.C. Svec, Frankieis based on a story written by current MKA senior, Krissy Bylancik.
