Waring and Barras Scholars Announced

The Montclair Kimberley Academy Upper School recently announced their Mary K. Waring and Avery Barras Distinguished Scholar Award winners for the 2008-09 school year.

Mary K. Waring Scholars are those students who made the High Honor Roll, receiving A’s and A-‘s for both semesters of the school year.  From the freshman class, those students were James Cockey, Yannick Couture, Trevor Freed, Dylan Parker, Allison Sweeney and Jordan Walters.  From the sophomore class, Sarah Cuneo, Julie Emra, Alexa Minion, Meredith Moran and Christopher Pepe.  From the junior class, Alexa Franco, Burke Kusnierz, Joseph Mallock, Sarah Moses, Marion Nammack, Zachary Opperman, Jake Perl, Margaret Phillips, Laura Placentra, Emilie Schurenberg, Alexa Semonche, Rosa Wahlers, and from the senior class, Alyse Amato, Miriam Grossman, Giri Nathan and Olivia Shepard.

Avery Barras Distinguished Scholars are those students who receive only A’s (no A-‘s) for both semesters of the school year.  From the freshman class, John Mallock, Lauren Martin and Devika Patel received this honor, and from the junior class, Laura Polding and Elana Stern.
