Book Fair: Evening Edition 

Monday, November 10
4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | Middle School

Open to all MKA families! Join your student(s) to shop the Book Fair at the Middle School Upper Gym after school.  Enjoy books and more for all ages: delicious refreshments, gift wrapping, and other fun surprises! There will be pizza and baked goods for sale - so you can take care of holiday shopping, dinner, and dessert!

Hello, Universe and The Last Resort

Kat Fajardo is a Honduran Colombian award-winning cartoonist and illustrator from the lively and magical place of Loisaida, New York City. She is the creator of Miss Quinces and its companion, Miss CamperMiss Quinces was a national indie bestseller, and its Spanish edition, Srta. Quinces, received a Pura Belpré Award Honor. Kat is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, and she loves to create playful and colorful work about self-acceptance and Latine culture. Her work has been recognized by online publications such as RemezclaEl Hispanic NewsSchool Library JournalHuffington Post Latino Voices, and more. When Kat isn’t making comics, you might find her collecting small junk for scrapbooking, listening to spooky podcasts, or chasing after her sock-stealing pups, Mac and Roni. PRE-ORDER VISITING AUTHOR BOOKS


Don’t miss the opportunity to secure signed copies of exclusive titles from our visiting authors. Use this order form to purchase books—whether for a student or as a special gift! All orders must be submitted by November 8.

Important notes:

  • For Primary School students: Pre-ordering is the ONLY way to receive an author-signed book. Students will not be allowed to get books signed on the day of the author visit without a completed form.
  • For Middle School students: Students may purchase books during the fair and have them signed by the authors. However, to guarantee a signed book, you will need to submit a pre-order form.
  • If you have children on multiple campuses, you may either:
    • Submit a separate form for each child, OR
    • Submit one combined order and indicate which homeroom/advisor you'd like the books delivered to.
  • For all book dedications, please limit to a first name or nickname. NO personal messages allowed. You can also indicate whether you prefer only the author’s signature. Personalized books are not refundable. All sales are final.
  • Faculty and staff may pre-order by entering your name in all applicable fields. Please be sure to indicate where you would like our order delivered.
  • Lastly, please remind your child of the books that were pre-ordered to prevent duplicate purchases.
